Kaladab congratulates Ammar Ayub Raja on his appointment as AIL Global President for Mirpur Division in 2026.
Warm congratulations to Ammar Ayub Raja, Advocate Supreme Court, on his appointment as President, Mirpur Division, Azad Jammu & Kashmir Chapter of the Association of International Lawyers (AIL Global) for 2026. The appointment notice is dated 25 September 2026.
Ammar thanked Saeed Ahmad Hashmi, President of AIL Global, and the Association’s leadership for their confidence in him. He also congratulated Ajmal Sultani, Advocate Supreme Court, on his nomination as President of the AJK Chapter and thanked him for his support.
In a statement following his appointment, Ammar said he would use AIL Global’s Mirpur Division platform to promote the rule of law, human rights, judicial independence, the dignity and professional freedom of lawyers, and international legal cooperation.
He stressed that the rule of law requires more than the existence of legislation. It calls for equality before the law, respect for fundamental rights, fair hearings, and the ability of judges and lawyers to perform their duties independently and without fear.
Ammar aims to build links between lawyers in Mirpur, Kotli and Bhimber and the wider international legal community. He proposed seminars, conferences and training for young lawyers on international law, human rights, mediation, peaceful dispute resolution, legal research and developments in legal practice.
Addressing the legal and human rights of the Kashmiri people, he said concerns should be raised through peaceful legal means, grounded in evidence, international human rights principles and available legal forums. He also emphasised that protecting lawyers’ independence, safety and dignity helps strengthen the justice system.
He invited lawyers, legal experts, human rights advocates and relevant institutions to work together for justice and human dignity. As he put it: “When the rule of law is strong, justice is strong. When justice is strong, human rights are protected.”
